Wife Abuse in the Muslim Community

The website's url: http://www.jannah.org/sisters/wifeabuse.html
Title:: Wife Abuse in the Muslim Community
Summery:: Wife Abuse in the Muslim Community
by Kamran Memon

Wife abuse has hurt many Muslim women, destroyed many Muslim families, and weakened the entire Muslim community. How much longer can Muslims afford to look the other way?

"And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and he has put love and mercy between your (hearts)..." Qu'ran 30:21

"I recommend that you treat women with goodness. The best of you are those who treat their wives the best." Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him)

While North American Muslims loudly protest the widely-documented Serbian abuse of Muslim women in Bosnia, the abuse of many Muslim women at the hands of their own husbands in North America is hidden and ignored by the community.

Domestic violence is the single major cause of injury to women in America. "Nearly one quarter of women in the United States - more than 12 million- will be abused by a current or former partner some time during their lives," according to the American Medical Association; and, despite Islamic teachings of justice and compassion, many Muslim women in the United States and Canada are no exception.

Based on information from Muslim leaders, social workers, and activists in North America, the North American Council for Muslim Women says that approximately 10 percent of Muslim women are abused emotionally, physically, and sexually by their Muslim husbands. (There are no hard numbers, because community leaders haven't taken the well-known problem seriously enough to research.)
Tags:: abuse wife Muslim
The Religion of Peace -- maintains a running body count of victims

Some even grasp onto wild conspiracy theories that blame Americans for 9/11 - just as the millions of Jihad victims over the centuries are in some way held responsible for their own slaughter as well.

And finally, we came to realize that this extraordinary arrogance and self-absorption on the part of the Muslim community, along with an inability to empathize with people who are not like them or engage in the sort of self-critique that leads to moral progress is in no way incidental to the religion.

There is something deeply, deeply wrong with Islam.

Originally, we started this website in the naive hope that perhaps Muslims just didn't realize the extent of the violence that is committed in the name of their religion. Perhaps if they understood, then they might be motivated to turn the critical eye inward and resolve those far more important issues that leave so many lives in agony and force the consumption of so many billions of dollars in security resources.
Tags:: Islam terror total deaths fatwa Koran
Naturally, Muslims aren’t going to promote our presence, so we have to.

I’m going to start a new blogroll, linking to blogs written by apostates from Islam. I think it’s admirable that out of such a repressive religion, people are nevertheless choosing to speak up. They have my support, even if I don’t agree with all their views.

If you are an apostate from Islam and have a blog (and obviously, if you don’t object to being on my blogroll), please drop a comment here and I will add you.

All apostate blogs (and some notable Muslim apostates and websites) will be listed in the sidebar under “Other Apostates.”

The website's url: http://islam-watch.org/
Title:: Islam Watch
Summery:: Our ultimate aim is to guide the Muslims out of the fold of Islam. We also expect that critical voice against Islam will render it somewhat benign.

We plan to achieve our goals in the following manners:

We will criticize and expose the real truth about Islam without minding about any political correctness whatsoever.

We will establish that Islam is false, that it is not revealed by any almighty God, but was created by Prophet Muhammad himself to fulfill his greed, ego and ambition.

We will prove that Islam has nothing to do with peace but is a dangerous cult founded through violence, terror, plunder and extreme injustice by its founder Muhammad himself.

We will prove that Islam is not compatible with modern world, including its concepts of democracy, tolerance, human rights and gender equality, but stands in contravention and hence is dangerous for modern civilization.

We will demonstrate that Islamic terrorism, as witnessed now-a-days is sanctioned by Islam. Terrorists did not hijack Islam but Islam itself has hijacked some otherwise good human beings and turned them into machines for terror, murder and destruction.

We will also awaken the non-Muslim world, especially the West, about the short-term and long-term dangers Islam to their good and benevolent society.
As non-theistic humanists, we strongly affirm that human life should be guided by human conscience, wisdom and judgment based on the Golden Rules. This is an ever-changing dynamic process, as people gain new experience, scientific knowledge and insights into the workings of the world and human life. Opposed to the religious doctrines, no particular set of rules should be considered absolute and universal. We propagate that 'Live your own life and let other live theirs so long they don't harm and cause nuisance to others'.

"Islam Watch" will be dominated by ex-Muslims and moderate Muslim writers. We will make some room for non-Muslim writers to gauge how the non-Muslim world grasps the truth about Islam.

To create a critical mass, one of our missions will be to create new critiques of Islam from Muslim background. We will put maximum effort in nurturing these nascent talents. To this end, we will urge Muslim writers to pen their critical thoughts on Islam, regardless of excellence, and we will try to accommodate them in our website.

Although "Islam Watch" has been launched by a group of ex-Muslims coming mainly from the South Asian region, we aim to connect to Muslim apostates from all corners of the world. We strongly encourage Muslim apostates from any parts of the world to voice their opinions through "Islam Watch".

"Islam Watch" will publish a comprehensive daily news concerning Islam from all corners of the world so as to keep our readers updated with the state of affairs of Islam worldwide. This, we hope, will transform "Islam Watch" into a unique hub for readers interested in the truth about Islam from all corners of the world.

We will publish a select number of Op-Ed/Articles of non-Muslim authors of strongly secular conviction. Such article will be most selected by the editors. Such authors are also encouraged to forward their commentaries for consideration.
Tags:: Islam moderates apostates critique news
Writer, counselor, editor - Egypt

The domestic environment does not seem to have escaped the growing violence that we are experiencing in the world today. Violence trickles downwards whether it is internalized or expressed. The young have become victims to that expression in a form most violent – sexual abuse. Lost and alone with the horror, many have turned to Cyber-counselor at Islamonline.net for help. Most of those victims are Muslims from the US with a minority from India, Australia, Bahamas Caribbean), Lebanon, and the UK. They have experienced abuse mostly at the hands of relatives although some have been abused by in-laws, a family friend, a neighbor, strangers, and in one case a mother sexually abused her son. Out of those questions received 60% of the questioners involved cases of sexual abuse, 6.60% involved rape, 13.33% involved rape and sexual abuse, and 20% involved physical abuse as well as sexual abuse.
Tags:: sex abuse child Islam counselor
Faith Freedom

The website's url: http://www.faithfreedom.org/
Title:: Faith Freedom
Summery:: "O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which if made plain to you, may cause you trouble... Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith." (Quran. 5:101-102)

Faith Freedom International is a grassroots movement of those who asked prohibited questions and on that account lost their faith. We came to see that Islam is a hoax, an imperialistic ideology, disguised as religion, invented by a narcissist for his own personal gains. We found out that Muhammad was a conman, a ventriloquist who projected his own words into his imaginary dummy deity to fool the gullible. With a promise of a carnal and orgiastic paradise (just for men) and threat of hell he goaded his foolhardy followers to raid and slay innocent people under pretext that they were infidels. He and his merry band of terrorists looted villages and cities, raped the women, and enslaved all who were not killed outright. To this day, Muslim jihadis are following the footsteps of their prophet who bragged, "I have been made victorious with terror" . No other cause is responsible for more deaths than Islam. Our goal is to expose this religion of terror and warn of its danger. We also want to help Muslims see the absurdity of it, end their "us" vs. "them" ethos and embrace the human race in amity. No one is their enemy; it is they who are the enemy to everyone else. We strive for the unity of mankind through the elimination of Islam, the most insidious doctrine of hate. Humanity is one. Let not charlatans like Hitler and Muhammad divide us with their big lies.

Islam can't be reformed, but it can be eradicated. It can't be molded, but it can be smashed. It is rigid, but brittle. That is why Muslims can't tolerate criticism of it. To eradicate Islam, all we have to do is tell the truth. It's that simple. This was not possible before, but with the help of the Internet, it is now. The insanity of this creed is so glaringly obvious, it boggles the mind. All it takes to see that is to read the Qur’an.
Tags:: Islam deconversion support
Sexual assault, harassment and abuse are crimes which are abhorrent and unacceptable. They are often perpetrated in the privacy of homes or are committed by those whom people may be close to or trust. This makes it not only unacceptable, but shameful as well.

Victims of sexual assault, abuse and harassment often prefer to keep their victimization hidden, fearing blame. But if you are a victim, this is a danger to yourself and to others too, who may become the next victims of the sexual harasser and/or abuser. Here are some things you can do to break the wall of silence and start the healing:
Tags:: sexual abuse rape harassment assault male female escape
After earning a degree in political science she served as an elected member of the Dutch parliament for three years.
